The Justin Rodriguez Campaign ("we" or "us") runs votejrod.com. This page explains what information we collect when you visit the site or sign up, how we use it, and the choices you have.
WHAT WE COLLECT
We only collect what you choose to give us, plus basic site data.
When you sign up for updates, volunteer, or contact us: your name, email address, ZIP code, phone number if you give it, and your message.
When you donate: donations are handled by ActBlue on its own secure site. ActBlue collects your payment details. We never see or store your card number. Texas and federal law require us to keep certain donor details, such as name, address, employer and occupation, for campaign finance reports.
When you browse: our website host, Wix, uses cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and to give us basic visit counts.
HOW WE USE IT
To send you campaign news, event invites and volunteer opportunities you asked for. To answer your messages. To file the campaign finance reports the law requires. To understand how people use the site so we can make it better.
WHAT WE WILL NOT DO
We will not sell or rent your personal information. We will not ask for your Social Security number or bank details on this site.
WHO ELSE MAY SEE IT
Service providers who help us run the campaign, such as our website host (Wix), our donation processor (ActBlue), and our email and text message tools. They may use your information only to provide those services to us. Government agencies, when the law requires it, such as campaign finance reports or a valid legal request.
TEXT MESSAGES
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may send campaign updates by text. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop getting texts. Reply HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number or text opt-in with other groups for their marketing.
YOUR CHOICES
Email: click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email. Texts: reply STOP. Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well. To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, email justin@votejrod.com. We may need to keep some donor records to follow campaign finance law.
KEEPING YOUR INFORMATION SAFE
We use trusted providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No website can promise perfect security, so please do not send sensitive information by email or the contact form.
CHILDREN
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
LINKS TO OTHER SITES
Our site links to other sites, such as ActBlue, social media, and the Bexar County Elections Department. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
