Born and raised
Justin grew up on San Antonio's Westside. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of the Incarnate Word and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Juvenile prosecutor
Began his career at the Bexar County District Attorney's Office, working with young people and seeing the importance of accountability, rehabilitation and second chances.
SAISD Board of Trustees
Elected to the SAISD board and served three years, focused on stronger schools and greater opportunities for students.
San Antonio City Council
Represented District 7 for two terms, working on neighborhood infrastructure, public safety and economic opportunity.
Texas House, District 125
Fought for affordable higher education, voting rights and access to health care. Served on the Appropriations Committee and as Deputy Whip for the House Democratic Caucus.
Bexar County Commissioner
Appointed in January 2019 and elected by voters in November 2020. As Commissioner, Justin has focused on flood protection, roads, public safety, health care, housing and jobs.
Chair, Texas Conference of Urban Counties
As chair-elect, Justin will bring leaders from Texas's largest counties together around shared challenges and practical solutions.

Justin and his wife, Victoria, are raising their three children near St. Mary's University on San Antonio's Westside. For Justin, the issues before Commissioners Court are personal. They affect the families, neighborhoods and community he calls home.
